Pre-Sales Engineer

We are on the hunt for a technical mind to join our Pre-Sales Engineering Team. The ideal candidate will possess customer facing skills that will allow them to represent RSAWEB within a customer’s environment and drive discussions with our Technical and Sales teams. We are looking for someone with strong customer interaction skills and a demonstrated ability to think strategically about business and technical challenges.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Developing technical solutions with our Technical and Sales Teams which accurately address the needs of the clients
  • Assisting to close new business deals with Sales Executives
  • Monitoring solutions developed for clients and alerts Account Managers and Sales Executives of potential risks throughout the deal process
  • Assisting Sales Teams, Product Teams and Projects Teams with all pricing and proposals
  • Attending meetings with Sales, Product and Projects team where required
  • Answering complex technical questions with the Sales Executives and Account Managers
  • Providing coaching, training and development to Sales Team and other teams as required, both in an informal and formal manor
  • Attending events, conferences and networking workshops to upskill and develop new relationships
  • Pursuing new relationships with clients and briefs Sales Team to assure business is pursued
  • Providing training to clients where needed
  • Responsible for understanding the business and technical problems addressed by the our products and making suggestions on how to improve our product range
  • Traveling to client meetings and to other RSAWEB Branches and customer offices where required
  • Self-directed learning
  • Understanding the competitor landscape and being able to articulate our value propositions
  • Doing Visio diagrams to portray the solution to the client as well as doing internal diagrams for internal stakeholders
  • Doing Solution Descriptions documentation around solution construct to be able to refer to at a later stage

*This is a Johannesburg based role with monthly travel to Cape Town

Job competencies:

  • Strong verbal and written communications skills, as well as the ability to work effectively across internal and external organizations
  • The right person will be highly technical and analytical, with a background in designing/consulting on/implementing relevant technologies
  • The ability to drive collaboration between departments incl, Sales, Projects, Support, Development and Operations
  • Experience with Network connectivity services (Microwave, Fibre, DSL, Mobile)
  • Must be able to show a proven track record in a solution sales environment
  • Good relationship builder internally and externally
  • Has an established professional network
  • Must have a strong will to accomplish goals
  • Innovative and always looking to challenge and better convention
  • Ownership – able to take responsibility, troubleshoot problems and work with teams to get results.
  • The ability to cultivate trust and credibility with team and maintain strong working relationships at all levels of RSAWEB.
  • Cloud computing and understanding of virtualization platforms are an advantage
  • Degree level or relevant experience preferential
